Looking for our next home

Well, now it appears Washington State will be our new home for a while. It's about/appx 3 weeks until we hit the road, so now we are looking for a place to rest our heads and for me to work from. The car is for sale and we plan on getting some basic maintenance done on the van and then drive that to Washington. Ernie found a 1983 30ft RV in Washington in our price range. We may see if someone we know has a friend who could take a look at it for us. Might be worth flying there to take a look at ourselves. We also found a nice RV park online in the area he will be working, so that might be a good fit too. I have peace and hope that God IS in control and will work out all the important details.

Goodnight for now!

Moving is Over for now

Well I'm happy to say that we have stopped moving and packing for now, and are getting temporarily settled in the In-Laws Basement. Man have we been exhausted!! We are very blessed for the accomodations, and we've only had a few hitches. One of the dogs who shall remain nameless, thought it was best to mark his territory the first evening we were here after smelling other dogs that have walked that floor before.

The next day our hard drive locked up on our laptop, and our desk top could not access the internet. UGH!!!!! After 2 days/nights of trying to get the wirless to work, our options were not desirable, one of which was paying $44.95/month to get our own cable modem, since the parents couldn't remember the password for their own router. After more prayer, we finally discovered the cable company had a "deal" going on and if they put their own modem in the house, and added 100 more channels to the parents cable TV, the monthly bill would drop $20 and the cable company would support the modem. This way when the parents forget the password again, we we all won't go crazy. Mom & Pops were also happy with the new arrangement, so tomorrow, we hope to be up and running from the basement. That's a big deal for us, trying to keep taking care of business, job searching, automobile selling, and more.

I thought I would feel sad once the house was empty, and I'll admit it was a bit different, but I actually felt like a weight was lifted off our shoulders. I wasn't sad at all even when the renters things were in the house the day they moved in. We were still getting a few things out and ordered a pizza for us all to eat. I think I experienced the sadness when the pictures were off the walls and I was packing by myself (with the help of my packing angels of course) and my husband was on the west coast and not knowing just "when" he would be home to help or would he even get home to help before the move.

Now we are seeking God's heart for our vehicles (to sell and replace with one), a place to live once we get to Washington, or if He (God of course) has a better offer looming that we haven't seen yet because we've been so caught up in moving.

I have a work project I've been asked to do and present before we leave town, so I'm going to be spending my free time on that when I'm not at work. Hoping the big E will focus on Job, vehicles, taxes, cooking, and keeping house/apartment. That might sound like a lot, but he's got 10.5 hours a day that I'm gone at work including driving time. So I think he can handle it.

Child #1 is living with us and will be working in Washington also. Going to try and keep him busy too, doing odd handyman type jobs for those who need it. That will give him a little bit of running cash until we leave and keep him doing something other than playing video games and sleeping.

Gotta go buy some toiletpaper. Can't live without that. At least not very comfortably. Those leaves are currently wet and cold. Ha Ha

Packing Day? - I lost count

Sorry it's been so long. I didn't know what day it was there for a while, but my good friend B strongly encouraged me to keep writing, so here I am.

The good news is that my husband is now home to help, the bad news is that my husband is now home to help. Well let me explain. . . .The first 2 evenings together were great. He took me out to a nice dinner the first night as a thank you for cleaning up mouse poop with the shop vac, while he was having fun in Vegas at his bosses wedding. The second evening we went to my nice's 5th birthday party and had a great time. The next evening, I wondered what the aliens did with my husband. I felt like I had a stranger in my house working against me. Finally, at 1:30am I surrendered and went to bed, hoping and praying that the next day would be different.

The next morning, my Husband magically reappeared and it was an incredible moving day, and boy am I grateful. We had just the right help at just the right time. When we got to the storage unit with the first and largest load, the entire hallway way was flooded with standing water and may of the empty units had water in them. Thankfully, we were moved to another location one town over and that worked out just fine. We were grateful the water was discovered "Before" we moved in and not after. -- What a huge blessing that was.

Upon return to the house for the 2nd load, my Angel Crew--(the ones who helped me pack and clean) had lunch ready to devour. My Grandmother had made wonderful vegetable soup that was hot in the crock pots and 2 yummu desserts. The Angel Crew had already done amazing transformations to the house. A big shout out to little R from France. You rock at cleaning girl. I can't thank you enough. Miss B, Miss C, and Miss R, Miss L, Miss M and Mrs. JS you are all blessings beyond words - which I'm not that great at if you can't already tell, but know that I will never forget what you did for me. I pray HUGE blessings be showered on you all.

To my MOVERS - We never could have done it without you either. Your patience and care of our things is appreciated more than you know. HUGE blessings to you also.

Now what's left this week - Moving all the attic boxes (mostly Christmas Treasures) to Grandma's Attic, Moving the rest of the garage items to the Barn, Sorting through our clothes and choosing whether they make it in a suitcase, get put in a box to ship to us later, or get shoved off to Goodwill. Pack up our food, and move the rest of our things that we "think" we are taking with us to the next job to our Inlaws until we ship out on our treck across the country with 2 dogs in tow.

Yes, unless God has a better plan, it appears that we are heading to Washington State in the next 2-4 weeks. The epicenter of the earthquake a few weeks ago.

I ALMOST FORGOT TO TELL YOU - THE HOT TUB SOLD!!!!! - That is a testimony itself. We've had it for sale for 3 months. As hard as it was to surrender, we were beginning to wonder just what God's plan was for it as we'd had many inquiries, but no one ever made it over to even look at it. Well, last Saturday night after packing all day long, and being out of answers after making so many decisions on what to do with our stuff, I had a call from someone who wanted to buy the hot tub and pick it up right away. Wanted it for the Superbowl he said.

Okay, so I call my husband who was clear across the country at the time, and asked him "what do I do to get it ready for pick up." He told me I had to drain it and he would call my Dad to come over and unhook the electrical part. Well I was already spent by this point and this was quite the challenge. I got out the cordless drill and pushed the button to make it go counterclockwise, so it would un-screw the screws so I could take off the front panel to get to the pull lever needed to drain the hot tub. I was pretty proud of that success.

I tried, my Dad tried, my Brother-In-Law tried, and the guy who came to pick it up tried to pull the lever to drain the water out and it wasn't budging. Must have been frozen. We also found that the water was cool, and it's usually 99-100 degrees no matter what. So this was not a good sign and we were quite perplexed as to what to do. I had my 86yo Mamaw here, and my almost 5yo niece, plus 2 dogs. It was getting too crazy, so I put them All in my bedroom while we tried to figure this out. My Dad and B-inlaw decided to replace the breaker which had been tripping off, and the new one would allow the water to warm up enough to drain the hot tub. The next morning while at church, they came back over, drained it and cut the cord and it was ready to leave, sooooo. I was so gratefuly and excited by this point.

I called the guy who was going to buy it and he had a family emergency and couldn't come, and I called and left messages the next 2 days and he never called back or came. I figured God must have used that man to protect us, because without his call, the hot tub could have frozen solid and busted, but because he called we found the problem and were able to fix it before that happened.

a few days later we had call from someone who wanted to come and see it at 7:30am the following day, so needless to say my husband didn't get to sleep in his first morning back home in Indiana. The good news is that we received a deposit and a few days later it was paid for and gone. What seemed to take so long, and look so bleak turned around so fast. We even got full price for it.

Just Remember to Never give up - - when things don't look the way you want, or expected. . . .just know God is protecting you from something even worse, or has a blessing waiting for you if you'll be patient. He has shown up in some way every single day through this entire process in one way or another, He has been showing me just how real He is and it has really built my faith at a time when I have been way out of my comfort zone.

I must get back to determining my clothes destiny. Thank you for reading!!
